New Manchester High School4

Douglasville, GA | Douglas County

As a student at New Manchester HS, I feel like our school is one big family. I feel safe and at home. There are many clubs & activities that the students can be involved in. My classes challenge me but all my teachers are very supportive and they make sure I'm doing what I need to. Our school is brand new & by far the cleanest in Douglas County.

Honestly, New Manchester was the WORST high school I've ever been to. I've moved from North Carolina and the education was more diligent and had to earn your grades. Here, in New Manchester they give you your diploma just so you can get out even if you have a .5 GPA.

New Manchester is the BEST school in the Douglas County School System! As a brand new addition to the High Schools, New Manchester has already racked on the accolades in the areas of academia, athletics, and fine arts. New Manchester has a very high test scores across the board because of a generally amazing staff and students that are determined to succeed. Athletics sports players are phenomenal in the game and in the classroom. As a school, New Manchester has put addition attention to making sure their students thrive in the classroom first before they enter the game. There is a cultivating mood of servant leadership around the school. Awesome place to be, learn, work , and play!

My family's 3rd Senior will graduate from New Manchester High this year. Like most new schools there are improvements that can be made; and that requires a team effort. I regularly check my students grades and stay in contact with their teachers. The teachers do an excellent job on informing me of my kids' progress ( or lack there of). When parents are involved and demand quality...a school will change.

I want to know as much as I can on this school as well as the staff. I feel the teachers are not giving 100%.

My son has been attending New Manchester High since 9th grade. I find the teachers to be very involve and proactive in keeping me informed concerning my son via email or by phone. His teachers has always shown a caring attitude concerning his academics which I sincerely appreciate. My son really likes and respect his teachers; he feels like they care and want to see him succeed and I share his sentiments. about him and want to see him succeed and through my communications with his teachers, I share his sentiments.

It is unfortunate that a new school could become one of the worst schools in Douglas County. I cannot believe that within the last 2 years teachers have been fired, and seveal teachers and councilors have transfered Out of New Manchester High. The majority of teachers here have attitudes and obviously do not enjoy or know how to teach. I would love to see this school's test scores! Lableing the school as diverse, is not correct. The racial % is not balanced, more like 90% black/10% white , how fair is that? Fighting at the school is commonplace. The county needs to look very close at this school.

Many people are giving this school a bad name because of the few students who fight. The entire school body is not bad. My daughter is an upcoming senior and I'm sure it'll be a great year. In fact, I dont know a neighboring school that doesn't have issues or a bad teacher here and there. Just look at the news. Bad mouthing the school is not okay but helping to find a solution is. How can YOU help?!

New Manchester High School was the worst mistake I"ve ever made the school is HORRIBLE NEVER EVER SEND YOUR STUDENT THERE. The school has no guidance it always has fights and everysingle person there teacher or student has an attitude to give you. I was forced to switch schools because it was so bad after one month I always make sure to warn everyone I know about the school it is horrible I cannot believe how terrible sad and uneducated the school is. If you want your child to get an education do not and I repeat DONOT SEND THEM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor leadership!! Teachers do not teach anymore they are lazy. I always say to my child there's your Douglas County Education. You have a staff that doesn't care. Guidence counselors hat do not guide the students. Do yourself a favor and invest in private school.

I had high hopes for this school but was instantly disappointed. It is actually FAR from diverse. It is filled with African american students who seem intent on giving our race a bad name. The staff is okay but the school just seems to be moving towards being one of the worst high schools in the county! My child was forced to change schools because of the redistricting, when it originally opened and after one year of attendance, I was determined to get her out! Really disappointed in Douglas County for allowing such an aesthetically beautiful school to be so UGLY.
